Why we come out
Why the number comes after the tape measure
A house is never one gutter. A roofline with a porch, two gables and a valley can send far more water to one corner than to the next, and that decides the trough size, the number of outlets and where each downspout goes.
Other things only show up in person: a fascia board that gives under a thumb, a drip edge that stops short of the gutter, a downspout emptying against the slab. We would rather find them on the estimate than on install day, so the written price reflects the house in front of us.

How to get the most from the visit
None of this is required to book. Each item simply helps us get the fix right the first time.
- Clear a path to every side of the house, including back corners and any locked side gate.
- Keep pets inside while we walk the yard with ladders and a tape.
- Film the trouble spots in the next heavy rain. A short clip of an overflowing corner tells us a lot.
- Check any HOA rules on gutter color or profile, if your neighborhood reviews exterior work.
- Note where water pools after a storm: beside the slab, in the beds or across the driveway.
- Tell us the history of patched seams, re-hung sections or earlier fascia repairs.
- Think about guards if pine straw or oak leaves fill the trough every season.
- Say if timing matters such as a closing date, painters booked or a new roof going on first.

Long enough to measure every run properly, and how long that is depends on the property. A single-story house with a simple roofline has less to measure than a two-story home with porches, valleys and a detached garage. When we call to set the time, we can give you a better idea for yours.
We prefer not to. Photos and a phone call can tell you whether you are more likely looking at a repair or a new system, but the price depends on run lengths, roof area and the state of the fascia, and those need a tape measure and a close look.
A number given without measuring tends to move once someone is on site. Measuring first means the figure on paper reflects the job your house actually needs.
